Research Rockwell Elementary School public Schools in Cortland, New York

“Four of my children attended Rockwell Elementary School. The school I thought was a very loving, caring and educational school for my first two children, as they excelled. However, if you have a child with any kind of special needs the school lack the extra help your child will need. The district always seems to be in chaios. There have been four different Superintendents in the 7 years I was involved in the district. The elementary has had three different Prinicpal in that period of time. Currently they are a dissapoint to myself and my children.”

“Two years ago my husband and I purchased a home in the OCS district. We were both from smaller schools ourselves, Tully/Lafayette. And after we had done some comparisons on test scores etc. we were confident we made a good desision. Our daughter started her 2nd grade year there, it was at first what we thought was an adjustment period, she was involved in all the same activities she was accustomed to at her other school. After 4mo. we realized the district was lacking in administrators diversity training and they were not very welcoming to new students. She would come home crying and telling us horror stories of the lack of involvement she felt. As teachers stood by and allowed poor student behavior toward her. After trying to work it out, we pulled her from the district, placed her back in the prior school where she has now excelled tremendously. How sad!”
