Syracuse, NY -- Motorists traveling along I-690 in and around Syracuse should expect delays or take alternate routes as lane restrictions will be in effect again today.

A nursing home company headquartered in Nisakyuna has been sentenced by the Attorney General for patient neglect, the Attorney General's office announced Thursday.

I-81 Traffic will be reduced to one lane northbound from Exit 14 (Route 80) to the Tully/Lafayette area from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Route 174 Construction continues in the village of Marcellus between Main Street and Scotch Hill Road. Traffic is reduced to a single lane between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The road work will continue through the summer.

SUFFERN, N.Y. — The Avery Point baseball team needed to win one of a possible two games Wednesday to advance in the NJCAA tournament. Instead, the Pointers fell twice to Monroe Community College (Rochester, N.Y.), 8-5 in the early game, then 9-5 in the clincher, ending their season.

Solon, NY -- A Cortland County motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning after a car cut in front of him, state police said.

On May 14, 2008, the New York State Police at Homer investigated a two vehicle accident on State Route 41, in the Town of Solon. The collision occurred at the intersection of State Route 41 and Maybury Road at approximately 8:13am.

The Ithaca softball team beat Rochester 7-2 to capture the regional title and advance to the College World Series for the 7th time in the past 10 years. In Plattsburgh, Cortland State also won the regional title, beating Endicott 3-1 to advance to the College World Series in Salem, Virginia.

Cortland advances to the D-3 quarterfinals with a 12-9 win over Springfield while Ithaca erased an 8-2 deficit to knock out Williams 17-10 to punch its ticket to the quarters.
